Adena Core Logo

Our logo is a rendering of the so-called “Conjoined Mounds” of the Turner site,

east of Cincinnati in Hamilton County, Ohio, long destroyed.

Our interpretation is that the shape represents a winged rattlesnake rattle.

The seven lobes also suggest that it represents the Pleiades,

a very important asterism in Algonquian cosmology.

The Maya depicted the Pleiades as a rattlesnake rattle,

and there is strong evidence that the Maya inherited cosmological motifs from the Adena.
